MILWAUKEE, Wis. (May 7, 2018) – Inpro’s new Ricochet® Flexible Wall Protection was a winner of the 22nd annual International Interior Design Association’s (IIDA) Hospitality Design Expo Product Design Awards. The awards honor innovation, function, and aesthetic advancements in the hospitality industry.

Ricochet brings a whole new protection perspective by combining the look of wallcovering with the durability of rigid wall protection, so walls can make an impact while being able to take an impact. Unlike other products on the market, Ricochet Flexible Wall Protection offers the same durability and protective performance as traditional rigid wall protection, but is indistinguishable from wallcovering.

To say or think Ricochet is “just another VWC” truly misses the mark. Ricochet is different than traditional wall covering because it incorporates intentional texture, and with proper professional installation, it creates a totally seamless appearance. With 9 patterns and 148 pattern/color combinations to choose from, Ricochet turns a wall into a canvas.

“Product design plays a crucial role in the functionality and aesthetics of hospitality environments,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP. “Winners of this year’s competition found innovative ways to leverage product design to craft a hospitality experience that offers travelers a place to escape while maintaining elements that feel like home.”

Entries were judged by a jury of design professionals, including Christopher Evans, associate principal, Rottet Studio; Michelle Reichert, director – strategic sourcing, FF&E, MGM Resorts International; and Patricia Rotondo, IIDA, senior principal and director of interior design, Antunovich Associates.

“The submissions we received this year demonstrated the strong impact that great product design can have on a space,” said Rotondo, on behalf of the jury. “It was exciting to select winners whose product innovations offer incredible technical advancements and reflect a commitment to environmental responsibility.”
